Blog update on the way!

Our girl is keeping us super busy now that she is up and about in the house and we are loving it! An update is on the way as soon as this momma can get some computer time HA!

Some new words we have heard Mae say recently:
Cookie
Cocoon
Right there (as in my nose is right there on my face)
Turtle
Deer

Mae has been busy trying to outsmart the childproof latches on cabinets (so far not yet!) and leaning to climb the stairs. She amazes us every day and keeps us in stitches with her silly antics.

A Good Book and a Soft Chair

I am happy to report that Mae has developed a love for books and enjoys both being read to and looking through a book on her own. She checked out her first book at the library yesterday! She also had a blast at the library.

Mischief and Mayhem

New found freedom = mischief (that we are happy to see....by the way!)
One of the new things that Mae has leaned to do is take her clothes off. We have a little streaker running through the house now.

Walking!!!!

Mae can walk! She is still getting used to the idea that she can do this to go from place to place. We are so proud of her....we know how hard she has worked toward this milestone.

Hooked on Freezer Meals

In an effort to be more efficient and be able to get a home made dinner ready even when Mae has other ideas about what we should be doing instead, I have started to make meals and freeze them.
At first it was just a few meat loafs and some homemade marinara and meat balls. This past weekend I moved on to lasagna, chicken enchiladas and chicken spinach pasta. It feels good to know that I have homemade meals ready to go!

Here are a few of the recipes I tried:
Classic Lasagna

Chicken Enchiladas

I was able to get 3 casseroles out of one chicken!

A Sign of Love

We have been working on a few signs to help Mae communicate. I thought it couldn't hurt to throw in "I love you" =-)

Mae loves to play with water so she has been "swimming" in the kitchen lately.

Play dough has also been a big hit lately.

Oh how I love you, Cheerios.....let me count the ways....
